Speaker Heastie Continues Annual Statewide Tour in Oneida County, Announces $1 Million for The House of the Good Shepherd

Speaker Carl Heastie today continued his statewide tour, joining Assemblymember Marianne Buttenschon to announce $1 million for renovations and expansions for The House of the Good Shepherd, which provides treatment, education and support services to children and families.

“This state funding will help The House of the Good Shepherd provide the services and resources children in crisis and families in Oneida County need,” Speaker Heastie said. “I’m proud to be here with Assemblymember Buttenschon on my statewide tour today to announce this funding and see the good work this organization is doing in the community.”

“Our children in crisis need help now more than ever, and these state dollars will help The House of the Good Shepherd provide those services here in Oneida County,” Assemblymember Buttenschon said. “Thank you to Speaker Heastie for being here today with us to announce this funding which will help provide even better resources and outcomes for the children and families in our community.”

Speaker Heastie and Assemblymember Buttenschon toured the House of the Good Shepherd with CEO Brian McKee. There, they announced $1 million in state funding for renovations and capital expansions so they can continue to provide critical services for youths in crisis. The House of the Good Shepherd is a leading provider of treatment, education and support services for children and families in the community, which includes foster care, educational and residential services. They are celebrating their 150^th year in the community.
