BUDGET HIGHLIGHTS
(Executive Budget: pp. 377-379)
The Temporary State Commission of Investigation is a bipartisan fact-finding
agency which investigates and reports on organized crime, racketeering, the
conduct of public officers, and other matters affecting public peace, safety and
justice.
This agency is included in the Public Protection and General Government
appropriation bill.
State Operations
The Executive proposes an All Funds State Operations appropriation of
$3,121,000, reflecting a decrease of $43,000 from SFY 2000-01 funding level.
This decrease represents the following actions:
-- a decrease of $54,100 in personal service to reflect salary adjustments
and other costs associated with agency operations. This includes a
decrease of $105,000, reflecting the elimination of 2 vacant Full Time
Equivalent (FTE) positions, offsetting increased salaries.
-- an increase of $11,100 in non-personal service.
The Executive recommends State Operations Special Revenue-Other appropriation of
$200,000 for SFY 2001-02, which reflects no change from SFY 2000-01.
Article VII
The Governor proposes Article VII legislation to extend the Temporary State
Commission of Investigation to remain in effect for two additional years, from
September 1, 2001 through September 1, 2003.
