The Commission monitors 71 State correctional facilities, 63 county jails, 17 New York City correctional facilities and 267 locally operated police department detention facilities throughout the State. As a result of legislation enacted in 1996, the Commission also has oversight of secure detention facilities operated by the Office of Children and Family Services. State Operations The Executive recommends an All Funds State Operations appropriation of $2,586,000, an increase of $69,900. This increase reflects costs associated with salary adjustments. The Executive also recommends the elimination of one position through attrition. |
