LEGISLATIVE ACTION
The Legislature concurs with the Executive recommendation.
Article VII
The Legislature approves legislation proposed by the Executive that would increase the recording fee on real property transfers from $25 to $50. This proposal would authorize county clerks to retain $9 from the fee, an increase of $6 from the current amount.
The Legislature amends legislation proposed by the Executive that would recover from the industry, the State’s cost of appraising oil and natural gas wells for local property taxation permanently. The amendment extends such authorization for three years.
The Legislature denies legislation proposed by the Executive that would place a one-year cap on STAR savings for non-senior homeowners.
