MYTH
Police are banned from working with ICE to arrest criminals

Nothing in this policy prevents police from cooperating with ICE when there is a judicial warrant or court order, or when there's an imminent threat to public safety


MYTH
ICE will no longer know if an undocumented immigrant has been arrested

FACT
ICE has access to fingerprint database of everyone arrested for state and local crimes and will continue to receive this information automatically


MYTH
State and local law enforcement will be banned from working with the federal government on task forces and other joint operations

There is no prohibition on working with the feds on important initiatives like anti-gang task forces or legitimate work with Homeland Security
